STEP is an institution of higher education offering training in the field of theology and pastoral ministry for those who aspire to serve, or who are already serving, as leaders within the evangelical community.
The flagship program at STEP is Bachelor of Theology Degree (B.Th.) with a duration of 4 years and offering between 130 and 140 credits. There are two options of specialization: Pastoral Ministry and Bible and Theology.
Bible and Theology
A graduate of the Bible and theology option should be able to:
- show a deep understanding of the minor points of systematic theology
- evaluate different theological systems
- exposing the theology of each book of the Bible
- converse on introductory issues for each Biblical book.
- effectively teach courses in systematic theology and Bible
- use the languages of Hebrew and Greek and the appropriate associated tools in their ministry
- to interpret the biblical text using advanced methods and principles of hermeneutics
Pastoral Ministry
A graduate of the Pastoral Ministry option should be able to:
- effectively administer a local church
- interpret, apply and properly teach the Word of God
- establish a new local church
- do the work of evangelism
- perform social and civil services (weddings, funerals, etc.)
- give evidence of a superior skill in homiletics and hermeneutics
- carry out a construction program for the church
- provide care related to pastoral ministry
- engage in the development of their community
