In an effort to make training accessible to a larger number of future Haitian leaders, STEP launched a new Summer Diploma Program on June 18th. This initiative was developed in response to the needs of leaders whose current ministry responsibilities prevent them from enrolling in STEP’s full-time bachelor program.
The first cohort was made up of 23 students from across the country who attended eight intensive classes meeting from June until August on the school campus. These students are already very active in ministry and this allows them to immediately put into practice what they have learned. They are eagerly looking forward to beginning the second year of this three-year program next summer.
Andrikson Descollines, Academic Dean at STEP, expresses his joy in these words:
What is a source of satisfaction for me is the confidence that the Haitian evangelical community places in the quality of the training offered by the STEP. Despite the difficult context in which we work, more and more leaders are interested in training at STEP. My joy is made greater when I hear the testimonies of the 23 students in this new program, saying they are better equipped to do their ministry after taking these classes. May the name of the Lord be blessed!
